Holiday Schedule Guideline

Description:

This is a guideline on how holiday schedules will be created. However, it up to the management group to determine the actual schedule before each Holliday based on production load and needs. New Years, Christmas and independence day which falls on different week days will need special consideration to allow for most effective production schedule while considering employee preferences.
Definitions:

Closed Closed unless there is serious need that cannot be avoided. Even if production is closed, staff that wished to get their hours can assist sanitation. 
Preferred Closed If production schedule and other needs allows, we will be closed. This is the goal and strong preference.
Normal Shift Normal shift as needed, could be shorter if possible.
Short Shift Have a goal to finish work during half the time of a regular shift. Based on employees preference, a full shift can be scheduled.
Voluntary Unless there are specific needs, staff can take it off, or come in to get their hours. Their decision needs to be communicated at least 3 days in advance.
