Create a nutrition calculation sheet using the template. Save the nutritional sheet on the google drive as Nutritioncalculations_CustomerName_Year and share it with the product development team. Create a tab on the same sheet for flavors associated with the customer.
-
Obtain, verify, and record the following on the nutrition calculation sheet:
-
Seasoning name, number (with supplier number) and %
-
Serving size and number of servings per bag
-
Use most recent nutritional laboratory for salted or unsalted potato chips(kettle or industrial according to product)to obtain information for unsalted potato chips (or unseasoned product when applicable) and record the FDC ID. Remove the sodium content if it is a salted chip.
-
Enter the nutrition information for the seasoning in the nutrition calculation sheet.
-
Use a technical sheet from the same year, if the sheet is from a previous year, request for an updated sheet form the supplier and upload it to the drive with the seasoning number and year it was obtained.
-
Make sure the formulas on the sheet are accurate for the seasoning % and serving size for the product.
-
Use the information from the finished product column to create a label using approval label generator (US: https://www.onlinelabels.com/label-generator-tools/nutrition-label-generator.aspx). Any changes (rounding up/down) done on the label should be recorded in the comments section for the final label calculations on the nutrition calculation sheet.
-
Check online if there are any directives from the FDA / Livsmedelsverket about any updates to the nutrition label requirements, and make changes to the label if necessary. Verify that the DV for nutrients is accurate in the nutrition calculation sheet.
-
The label will be reviewed by the product development manager and the quality group for accuracy.
-
Upload the approved label on the drive and save a copy in the nutrition calculation sheet.
-
Update any relevant information on 04.02.002_Finished Product Specification.
